Hi Everyone - I'm attaching photos and following are descriptions of four really lovely horses who are being retired from their careers as outfitter horses. The caretaker of these four says they all have great experience and need to find new homes by the middle of December.
If you are interested in one of these horses, please contact Lennae Klyap at 406-223-3078, 406-848-9111 Happy Trails, Jane Heath Executive Director Montana Horse Sanctuary Simms, MT

FOUR EXPERIENCED HORSES NEED HOMES IMMEDIATELY - Hello, my husband and I manage a hunting outfitting business in Emigrant, MT and we have 4 horses that I am desperately trying to find good homes for. They are such sweet horses and if I had the property of my own or the funds I would just let them live out their time with us.
Billy is an 18 year old sorrel gelding who has been my husband’s guide horse and buddy for the last 11 years, my husband said he was "half elk" back in his day, about 5 years ago he was hit pretty hard with ringbone and has just been a pasture buddy since then, with some corrective hoof trimming regularly he is like a new horse, he is the most personable, loving horse of the bunch. It would probably do him good to do some light riding.
Clover is a 20-22 year old buckskin mare. She arrived at the ranch when we got here 11 years ago and to our surprise was with foal, she was a great mom, she was used for hunting, trailrides and packing. We call her our movie star, she was in tv ads for Rocky Boots and on the Outdoor Life Network while doing several hunting shows for Elk Country Journal, she knows when to ham it up. About 2 years ago she acquired massive swelling in her front knee, after treating it profusely with DMSO, the swelling had gone down but now she has arthritis in the joint and has been put on retirement. I watch her in the pasture and she still likes to run and kick it up with the others so I think she still has some fun years ahead of her but on really light duty.
Jackpot is a 20-22 year old sorrel gelding. We have had Jackpot for the past 6 years and he was used as a good all around dude horse for trailrides, hunting and packing. Last year he started getting real sore on his back, he has what they call "Hunters back" I guess, arthritis in the wither area to the rump as well as some new arthritis showing up in his hip area causing him to have a limp on the back leg. He has been retired since then. He has a humble, good demeanor and would be a great companion horse. At this time riding is not an option.
Lily is a 30+ year old Arabian mare. This little horse is a goer at her age! She has been used for trailrides the past 6 years. She loves to go and be leader of the pack, she is still very sound but tends to wear out after after several hours. She would be an awesome horse for someone small just starting out. She was also featured on the Rocky Boot commercial and loves to be the princess! She has been at the bottom of the pecking order since she got here because of her size I think but she knows how to handle that just fine.
All of these horses get along great with other horses and deserve to have a good home. You can reach me anytime at 406-223-3078, 406-848-9111 or my husband Jim at 406-223-0009. I look forward to hearing from you.
