RMR News - Equus and Paws Wins Holistic Retailer of the Years Award

Irvine , Calif. – In its annual contest to select the outstanding pet industry retailer, Pet Product News International, the leading monthly trade newsmagazine covering the issues and trends affecting all sectors of the professional pet industry, announced Equus & Paws LLC as recipient of its Outstanding Holistic Approach Award, which is part of the magazine’s prestigious Retailer of the Year award program.

Pet Product News International will profile the retailer in the February 2012 issue of the magazine. The overall winner and the 11 special recognition winners are each given a seat on the Pet Product News International Retail Advisory Board as part of the award.

Equus & Paws LLC is located in Missoula , Mont , and is owned and operated by Elizabeth McNeilly, a licensed groomer and equine and canine massage therapist. Equus & Paws is dedicated to ensuring holistic grooming and spa-type care, and promoting natural foods and supplements for dogs and horses. Customers can avail themselves of a variety of pet services, including equine sports massage, canine massage, full-service grooming and self-service dog wash. The shop also offers a variety of boutique, dog and equine products.

The Retailer of the Year Awards were created 19 years ago to recognize retail excellence in the pet industry. Candidates are initially selected from surveys distributed to retailers via the magazine and BowTie Inc.’s Retailer Sales force. Retailers are then reviewed and evaluated by members of Pet Product News International’s award panel on such criteria as employee training practices, promotion of companion animals, involvement with professional and service organizations, innovative promotion, effective strategies in the marketplace, community impact and industry impact.

The Retailer of the Year contest is sponsored this year by World Pet Association (WPA), the oldest pet industry trade association and sponsor of the annual SuperZoo trade show.
