Global Business Strategist to Lead Parelli Horsemanship Fund

Charged as it is with making the world a better place for horses, the Parelli Horsemanship Fund is pleased to announce its partnership with global business strategist and Two Star Parelli instructor Lori Northrup.

Northrup will manage the day to day operations of the fund, spearhead fundraisers, interface with rescues and therapeutic riding groups and guide the fund’s growth.

“Lori has always been passionate about Parelli. She’s a bright, dynamic business woman and we are honored that she has volunteered her skills to spearhead the Fund’s initiatives,” said Parelli Media Director, Neil Pye.

Northrup is the founder, former CEO and current Chairman of Stride Tool, a specialty hand tools company that grew to $40 million in sales. In 1998, the company was recognized by Inc. 500 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the US . She later founded an online company, in a similar field, which she sold in 2001. The company still operates successfully today.

In addition, Northrup earned her Parelli Two-Star instructor rating in 2010 and has achieved Level 4 in Freestyle and Finesse. Northrup is the acting president of the Friends of Sound Horses (FOSH) a non-profit dedicated to ending the abuse of Tennessee Walker show horses.

Her passion for horses and experience with fundraising and organizing meshes tightly with Parelli Horsemanship Fund objectives.

In partnership with the Parelli community, the Horsemanship Fund seeks to find “forever” homes for horses in need, enrich children’s lives through natural horsemanship, develop future para-equestrians, and support students worldwide by developing Parelli Professionals and equine educators.

Worldwide one in 200 horse owners use the Parelli program. The company’s goal is to see 1 in 10 horse owners using the system. As the Parelli Corporation grows, the Horsemanship Fund, a Colorado based 501(c)3, is slated to grow with it and intends to radically influence how horses are respected, trained and treated.

With Northrup at the helm, The Parelli Horsemanship Fund will build on the existing altruistic spirit of the Parelli Corporation, which over the past three years has provided some 400 students more than $3 million in scholarships.
