Here are the results of the first High School Rodeo held in Cut Bank over the weekend at the Saddle Club.

 

The beautiful weekend weather was perfect for the Cut Bank High School Rodeo held at the Cut Bank Saddle Club Saturday.  Many local contestants performed in Saturday's 'qualifier' rodeo, but contestants also came from as far away as: Arlee, Belgrade ,  and Culbertson.  To 'qualify' to enter the State High School Rodeo in the spring of 2011 contestants must earn at least 1 point in each event they wish to compete in at State.  Points are awarded to the top ten riders in each event with 10 points for first place. 

 

High School Rodeo is not sanctioned by the Montana High School Association, but to be eligible contestants must be High School students with a passing grade point average, and can attend public & private schools or be home-schooled.  Saturdays' rodeos had 36 contestants. 

 

Spectators were entertained by Dale Bird's bucking bulls, and Vince Micheals' bucking broncs.  The Browning High School Rodeo club helped with organizing the event under the direction of Robin Johnson.  John Ray announced and Suzanne Weeks was the rodeo secretary.  Glacier County EMS provided the EMT's and Normans Sport & Western provided the awards.  Cut Bank Saddle Club members helped with the rodeo & provided concessions.
