Total Equine

May 2013 issue

Total Equine Feeds

Total Equine is a steam extruded feed which makes the roughage (hay) you feed more digestible. The extrusion process also enables the source of energy in Total Equine to be 90% available!

Total Equine is not a “concentrate” as its base is alfalfa hay. It is made without molasses or other sugars. It is very safe to feed in place of a grain at any life stage. Alfalfa gives it the odor and flavor equines love, and contains 70–80% of the fiber levels equines need for a safe ration.

Formulated over the past 20 years by Dr. Harry Anderson, PhD in Nutrition, Total Equine provides maximum equine performance and health.

Total Equine derives its protein from alfalfa, rice bran, and natural oil meal. Amino acids such as methionine and lysine are added to balance essential amino acids required by the horse.

Total Equine contains major minerals which are building blocks for bones and are vital to all chemical reactions in the body, as well as bioavailable trace minerals with proper levels and ratios.

Added B-Vitamins function as antioxidants to reduce the rate of cell destruction by environmental pollutants and metabolic by-products. Total Equine also contains Tasco, a specific species of seaweed which is known to stop growth of E.coli in the large intestine.

Total Equine provides 15% protein, 5% fat, and 20% fiber. The steam extrusion process reduces the possibility of compaction or gas colic, and improves bioavailability of minerals and micronutrients. It can be fed moist or as gruel to horses with dental issues.

Feed Total Equine at the rate of 4 lbs. per 1,000 lbs. of body weight per day, along with free-choice of hay or grass, salt, and clean, fresh water.

Total Equine is available from Bridger Feeds in Bozeman , MT. 406-586-3026. www.bridgerfeeds.com.
