Sale
The Headwaters Livestock Early Summer Select Catalog Sale was held June
12, 2010 at the Headwaters Livestock Auction facility in Three Forks, MT. The
weather was cool, but didn’t rain, and the sale ring was indoors.
The sale offered a selection of
started to well-broke geldings and mares. The auctioneers were Jack McGuiness
and Garth Isbell.
The high-selling horse was Do Poco
Tivo Dude, a 2004 dun quarter horse gelding consigned by Larry Gaustad of
Belgrade
,
MT.
The big, stout dun had been ridden extensively on the ranch and in the
mountains, and had been used to drag calves to the fire. He sold for $3,100 to
Ed Brainard of
Belgrade
,
MT.
The second high-selling horse was
Roscoe, a 2001 black grade gelding consigned by Blaze Simonson of Shepherd, MT.
This “gentle giant” had been ridden in parades and used to move cattle. He
sold to Peter Noreen of
Belgrade
,
MT
, for $2,300.
The average on the top five
horses/geldings was $1,890.
The next Headwaters Livestock Catalog
Sale will be held September 11, 2010. The facility offers a restaurant serving
breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
