Bidding will begin this month on the Montana
Reining Horse Association Stallion Stakes.
Eligible get of participating stallions will compete for added money and
prizes in the Stallion Stakes Program classes at the Big Sky Classic Futurity
and
MRHA paid out $54,000 in cash and $12,000 in prizes in 2011.
Ten percent of the money from the Stallion Stakes Stallion Auction goes
toward added-money to the sires of winners in each class; and 80 percent of the
money, plus entry fees, to the get that are winners.
Get of participating stallion receive two years of eligibility in the
Stallion Stakes Futurity Class and a 25% reduced entry fee at sanctioned events.
This years Stallion Stakes Auction is particularly exciting as two
stallions from Scott McCutcheon Reining Horses in Inwhizable, a WEG gold medalist and futurity finalist with
winnings of more than $57,000, whose offspring have won more than $276,000, and; Mega
Jac, an NRHA all-time leading sire, USET gold medalist, and
Reserve World Champion with earnings of more than $103,000, who has sired
earners of more than $700,000.
Mega Jac, an NRHA All-Time Leading Sire, will be in the Stallion Stakes auction.
The Montana Reining Horse Association also hosts reining training clinics
and National Reining Horse Assn. (NRHA), Northern Rockies Reining Horse Assn. (NRRHA),
Montana Reining Horse Assn. (MTRHA), and Yellowstone Reining Horse Assn. (YRHA)
