Trail Challenge Clinics

with Mike Wolfe Horsemanship

July 2011 issue

Whether you are a novice trail rider, a more experienced rider with a novice horse, or someone wishing to enter trail classes, ACTHA events, or extreme trail challenges, a day-long Trail Challenge Clinic with Mike Wolfe, John & Josh Lyons certified trainer, will be worth your while.

Mike has an obstacle course meant to challenge any horse and rider, including a “teeter-totter,” a bridge, hanging “foam noodles,” a water crossing, and drop-offs to ride down and steep rises to climb. He coaches each horse and rider in this controlled environment one-at-a-time so that other participants can watch and learn as problems are solved – until it is their turn to move through the obstacle.

Classes are made up of between five and fifteen participants and last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. During the last hour, Mike works with any special problems individually, such as trailer loading, pulling back, or a horse afraid of fly spray.

“My favorite thing is fixing problem horses,” explains Mike, who has worked full-time training horses and teaching riders for the past seven years and has trained horses since he was a teenager.

Upcoming Trail Challenge Clinics are scheduled for July 9, August 6 and September 10, 2011. They will be held at Mike’s facility in Victor , Montana .

Mike Wolfe Horsemanship also offers horse starting and training, riding lessons, and retraining horses with problems. To sign up for a clinic, call Mike Wolfe at 662-801-5083; email mwolfe_ranch@yahoo.com; visit www.mwolferanch.com.
