Salmon Select Horse Sale
We
are in receipt of the report from the Wild Bunch in Salmon, The
high-selling horse was Just Say Nic, a 1998 AQHA chestnut stallion sired by
Reminic and out of a Colonel Freckles daughter. The versatile, competitive and
cowy horse had earned over 100 AQHA points and was consigned by Julie Boer of

second high-selling horse was Lil Ruf Can Skate, a 2005 AQHA black gelding
consigned by Terry Erickson of Another
sale highlight was Smokey, a 1997 grade quarter horse gelding consigned by Bob
Robinson of The
average on 97 geldings was $2,552; the average on 30 mares was $1,556; and the
overall average on 128 head was $2,412. The
top volume buyer by number of horses was Steve Bauchman of Challis, ID who
purchased six head, and received the J. Wayne McArthur Award hat from Roy
Jackson of Jaxonbilt Hat Co. The

high-selling mule was Rosalie, a 2006, 14.3-hand, gray molly mule consigned by
Enos Borntrager of

second high-selling mule was Bernard, a 2006, 15-hand, bay john mule consigned
by Lindy Currie and Larry Gaustad of The
third high-selling mule was Doc, a 2006, 15-hand, bay john mule, and another
consignment by Enos Borntrager. This people-friendly mule had been ridden a lot
of miles in the mountains. He sold to Dan McLaughlin of Jeff
and Christina Tift of The
top five mules averaged $5,460 and the top ten mules averaged $4,560. The prices
on mules were higher than the previous two years, with the average on 53 mules
at $2,234. In 2010, 46 mules averaged $1,930, and in 2009, mules averaged

high-selling horse was Huslin Sunday Gold, a 2002 APHA bay tovero gelding sired
by Hanks Sunday Man by Hobo Sunday Man and out of a Versary Bars grandaughter.
