Forshner’s
Hoof Packing, a farrier’s
favorite for more than 25 years, has been named an Official Product of the
American Farrier’s Association (AFA). Forshner’s Hoof Packing joins
Farnam’s Horseshoer’s Secret hoof supplement and topical line, an Official
Product of the AFA since 2004, in this special designation.
Forshner’s Hoof Packing is the original ready-to-use emollient hoof
packing product. The brand is a well-known staple in the hoof care industry.
Forshner’s Hoof Packing is used by high performance horse owners and farriers
alike for packing hooves after a strenuous workout or for use under pads before
shoeing.
Forshner’s Hoof Packing packs into the hoof cavity to aid in preventing
hardened frogs, contracted heels and hoof dryness. The original ready-to-use
hoof packing contains vital oils and other essential ingredients to help retain
moisture and keep hooves pliable. The thick, emollient formula keeps working the
entire time it’s packed into the hoof. Forshner’s brand won’t dry out in
the hoof or in the pail.
Packing a hoof is as easy as 1-2-3 with Forshner’s Hoof Packing.
Step 1: Make sure the hoof is clean and dry. Take a small amount
of Forshner’s Hoof Packing (about the size of a golf ball) and work it in your
hands until pliable.
Step 2: Pack firmly around the frog.
Step 3: Continue to cover the sole of the hoof completely. Cover
with paper or straw if needed, or farriers may cover with pad before shoeing. If
packing hooves after strenuous workouts, remember to remove Forshner’s Hoof
Packing with a hoof pick before the next ride or exercising.

Horse owners should be sure to ask their AFA certified farrier for his
personalized coupon book containing approximately $70 in savings on many popular
Farnam Horse Products including Forshner’s Hoof Packing – $4 off the 4-pound
size and $10 off the 14-pound size. Offer is good where Farnam products are
sold.
