Spring Catalog Sale at Missoula Livestock Exchange

     The Annual Spring Catalog Horse Sale at Missoula Livestock Exchange was held May 8, 2010, in Missoula , MT. Buyers attended from Idaho , Washington , Montana and Canada .

     The high-selling horse was TW Driftin John Red, a 2004 AQHA dun gelding consigned by James Peabody, Billings , MT. Sired by Bradywood, a grandson of Orphan Drift, this gelding had been used extensively in the mountains and for ranch work. He sold for $3,950 to Carson and Moe Coryell of Polson , MT.

     The second high-selling horse was Cheks Blue Lynx, a 2005 AQHA sorrel gelding consigned by Cindy Frazer of Deer Lodge, MT. Sired by Badgers Sly Guy, a grandson of Just A Freckle, he was an all-around mount, used for gathering cattle to breaking colts. He was purchased by Arthur Greydanus of Lolo , MT , for $3,450.

     Another sale highlight was Rooster, a 2003 sorrel & white grade paint gelding. Consigned by Don Stoen of Florence , MT , the horse was used for trail riding and had 70 days’ training with Chris Bohenek. He sold to Sam Hayden of Florence , MT , for $2,700.

     The average on the top ten head was $2,485; and the average on all geldings under saddle was $1,600.
