The Valley Girls Barrel Racing Association of Walla Walla, WA, is
holding its 19th Annual Internet Stallion Service Auction for the 2011
season, January 2–31, 2011. Proceeds raised will pay out more than
$150,000 to racers and stallion owners.

The VGBRA Stallion Incentive Program is the longest-running
barrel incentive program in the
United States
! It was developed to promote the Barrel Daze Futurity and Maturity held
each April in
Walla Walla
. Since 1992, the program has continued to increase the added money
every year while promoting participating stallions and their offspring.
Bidding for each stallion’s
service begins at half the annual fee or $300, whichever is greater.
Proceeds from the auction are split between the added purse of the
Barrel Daze Futurity; owners of sires of winning racers; winners of
fastest times of each go and the average of those in the breeders
portion of the futurity; advertising and promotion; and the Barrel Daze
Maturity added purse.
Any registered stallion of any
breed is eligible for nomination to the Stallion Incentive Program,
although AQHA and APHA stallions are usual.
All registered offspring by
stallions in the Incentive Program are eligible to compete in the
Futurity (horses age five or younger in their first year of racing) or
Maturity (horses age five, six or seven that have been racing more than
one year).
