The 13th Annual Northwest Horse Fair and Expo is scheduled for March 22–25, 2012 at the Linn County Fair and Expo Center in Albany , Oregon . The event celebrates the spirit of the horse, showcasing world-class trainers and riders, horse breeds from all over the world, seminars, clinics and demonstrations, a huge trade show, plus exhilarating equine entertainment.

The “All Breed Challenge” is a new event for 2012, and horses and riders from all disciplines are invited to compete in this thrilling versatility competition. Horses and riders will negotiate a times obstacle course that draws from multiple riding disciplines: jumping, dressage, reining, trail, barrel, ranch versatility and more. Riders aged 15 and older can enter and vie for more than $3,000 in cash prizes.

This year’s headlining clinician is America ’s Favorite Horseman, John Lyons, whose clinic focus is Natural Horsemanship. “We’re very excited to have John Lyons back to the Northwest Horse Fair and Expo this year!” said John Cloe, Event Founder and Manager. “His training abilities are second to none, and he has been teaching his world-renowned training methods for over 30 years.”

Other clinicians include Jan Ebeling (Dressage); Julie Goodnight (Natural Riding); Linda Andrisani (Hunter–Jumper); Larry Whitesell and Jennifer Bauer (Gaited Horsemanship); and Marvin Pierce (Cow Dog clinics and demos).

The Northwest Horse Fair and Expo starts on Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. with the popular Equine Extravaganza — featuring a musical performance on Friesians, a draft mule hitch, and a equine theater presentation including trick training and in-hand exhibitions, as well as the first round of the All Breed Challenge.
