Cover-All
Demonstrates Strength of DuraWeave
Cover-All Building Systems, Inc. —manufacturer of steel-framed, engineered
fabric buildings — decided to test the hypothesis: “Could DuraWeave fabric
lift the weight of something as heavy as a truck?”
Cover-All performed a strength demonstration using its exclusive DuraWeave
fabric to lift 6,200 pounds with a fabric panel measuring 12 feet by 24 feet.
The demonstration used a lifting platform constructed of square tubular steel
used as a framework for the DuraWeave fabric lifting panel. A total of six
forklifts were required to perform the lift of a full-sized, crew-cab pickup
truck that had been parked on the lifting platform.
The truck was lifted off the ground by the forklifts that were connected to the
steel framework via certified 10,000 pound chains. The load was suspended in the
air for two full minutes as photographs and video were taken to document the
demonstration results.
The demonstration proved to be a success! A fully detailed White Paper
describing the demonstration, plus video footage is available from Cover-All
Building Systems, Inc. on their website at: www.coverall.net/EN/Media/DuraWeaveFabricStrength/.
